bdtronic wins the CWIEME Global award 2018

Impregnation machine for electric drives awarded as product of the year

bdtronic wins the 2018 CWIEME global award in the category ‘Product of the Year’ with its outstanding Impregnation Machine for electric drives.  It is the world's largest and fastest impregnation machine for the automotive industry.

The mobility of the future is electric. For the suppliers of electric drives this is an enormous growth potential. Entering this market segment in 2008, bdtronic has been present with the impregnation technology in the expanding e-mobility market. In 2018, the company received the CWIEME global award in the category ‘Product of the Year’ for its fully automatic electrical drive impregnation plant at CWIEME Berlin, the world's largest trade fair for electric motor manufacturing.

"After more than ten years of hard work, we have developed an outstanding product that is essential for serial production of electric motors. Because every electric drive is impregnated to protect against external influences", explains Patrick Vandenrhijn, Managing Director of bdtronic. "We feel honored to win this award. I am proud of all colleagues at bdtronic who worked hard to make this project a success".

Awarded the CWIEME Global Award, the B8300 machine is the world's largest and fastest impregnation machine for electric drives. With a cycle time of 45 seconds per electric motor stator and an annual output of 500,000 parts, the system is ideally suited to the requirements of the automotive industry. High volume impregnation technology is required for the production of electric motors for both hybrid technology, 48-volt mild hybrids and full-electrical motors for cars and trucks.During impregnation, the voids between wires are closed and sealed. This ensures better electrical insulation and prevents vibrations. Impregnation increases the thermal conductivity and contributes to a better environmental balance.

bdtronic has a lot of experience in dispensing and impregnation technology. This connection is unique in the market. This enables the company to build a machine that ensures both highest quality requirements and high production volumes. The systems are individually equipped and realized for the needs of the customer. They use their own processes to save time and costs and thus to be particularly efficient and environmentally friendly.

Electromobility is the drive technology of the future, all car manufacturers worldwide agree. Stricter emissions regulations by local, national and international authorities will accelerate the development over the next few years. This offers tremendous development opportunities for automotive industry suppliers.

bdtronic has experienced strong growth over the past few years; the company has almost doubled in sales, staff and manufacturing capacity. From 2012 to 2017, sales revenue has more than doubled. The number of staff members has continued to grow, now exceeding 330 team members worldwide. bdtronic continues to grow in the next few years and is willing to hire another 150 employees worldwide until 2020.
